Introduction
The aim of Civic Platform of Macedonia is to create an open place for contemplation, democratic discussion, formulation of proposals, free exchange of experiences and building mutual links for effective action by civic organisations that are committed to developing the civic society in Macedonia.
The Civic Platform of Macedonia collects and mutually connects the civic organizations (and other actors of the civic society in Macedonia), but it has no intention to be a body that exclusively represents Macedonian civic society.
As a framework for the exchange of experiences, the Civic Platform of Macedonia promotes mutual understanding and respect among participating civic organisations, encourages increased dialogue among civic organisations and places special importance on the exchange of experiences among them, as well as on their communications, coordination and cooperation. As a context for mutual relations, the Civic Platform of Macedonia endeavours to strengthen and develop new local, national and international links among civic organisations and other actors in the civic society.
The platform is established on 16 March 2004 and has 21 member organizations. The platform has standing bodies: Council, Committee and Secretariat as well as thematic committees and working groups for cooperation.
The aim
The aim of work groups is defining of specific goals for cooperation and developing strategy for work with other actors in the society (government, media, political parties, business sector etc).
Membership
Every work group is consisted of at least three organizations, and one of them is supposed to be chairmen and the rest of them are vice-chairmen. The organizations must be CPM members that: have positive experience, established good communication and cooperation with responsible actors; have financial and human resources necessary for activity implementation; these criteria are important for chairman election.
Competence
Sphere of activities in work groups is:
to develop strategy for cooperation
to suggest work methods (public debates, round tables, non-formal meetings etc)
to ensure minimum resources for activities implementation
to ensure participative work in the group
Responsibilities
Organizational and logistic, work group will be supported by chairmen in cooperation with the CPM Secretariat. The chairmen of the work group is responsible for organizing the events, sending invitations and make minutes if it’s necessary while the Secretariat will collect, process and distribute relevant information. The chairman will report to the CPM structures about the activities of work group as well.
The member of the work group is necessary to:
To regularly participate on the events
To deliver necessary information
To realize agreed obligations
Mechanism of work:
